Is that really me?

That's the question I had to ask myself as I gazed at my reflection in the window of a a subway car for the first time in many months bereft of sweatshirts, jackets or sweaters. The self delusion that at least some of that bulk I saw reflected back at me was the result of dressing in layers in order to keep warm. Well some of it was. but not nearly as much as I had convinced myself was the reason. Self delusion shattered I guess I will have to first find my scale, then shovel off the layer of dust that has accumulated since the last time I used it and then (gasp!) step on it. I do not look forward to this!
